Warehouse Management System PET-Power started with a custom made Warehouse
Management System (WMS) developed by Metheck to
control, track and trace all movements of our pallets produced.
After working on the WMS project for over a year,
the moment of full implementation took place on the 15th
of March. From this moment on we were able to see the
exact location and status of our pallets produced.
Every pallet gets a unique number to which all specifications
are linked. With this information we can optimize our product
flow and minimize the risk of incorrect deliveries. During the
past three months we have already seen that the WMS has
reduced incorrect deliveries with 50%!
Documents like the CMR and pick list are all automatically
generated, which means that there will be more accurate
details on them regarding the shipped products. Provided
with the unique pallet number, which can be found at three
different places on every pallet as well as the shipping
documents, we are able to trace detailed information
about the product you have received.
With this WMS we will keep improving and optimizing our
logistics to meet and exceed industry standards. Furthermore
using this modern system, will ensure that our reliability of
delivery keeps increasing.

New QA manager Maud Lambriex-Rousseau is now in charge of the Quality department which consists of 4 QA engineers. Maud has been working for 17 years as QA manager at Isotron, a sterilization service provider. With our team we will further enhance our quality controls to deliver the perfect product to our customers. As many industries raise the quality barriers continuously, PET-Power will remain at the forefront in this domain as well. PCR material The department Business Development & Technology of PET-Power is responsible for Product Development (Customs and Standards) and market driven Business Development based on new technologies and materials. We work in team with Sales, Production and Quality to implement the new developments.
One of the recent developments that has been tested and can further be implemented is the Post Consuming Recycling material (PCR). To favour environmental reasons there is a market need to introduce this material in various applications in our market segments.
Test results show that the selected PCR material can be used with our present tooling and machinery. The only influence visual is the colour
The selected mechanically recycled PCR material can be used for Food applications according to the new European regulation EC 1935/2004. This regulation states that the use of recycled materials and articles should be favoured for environmental reasons, if strict requirements are established to ensure food safety and consumer protection.
Important requirements in this regulation are:
- the recycling process should be authorised by relevant European authorities
- the plastic input must be manufactured in accordance with 2002/72/EC
- the output of the cleaning (recycling) process must comply with 2002/72/EC
- the recycled product must be accompanied by a declaration of compliance
- the recycling process must be accompanied by an appropriate quality assurance system
PET-Power Greece started DICHEM Chemicals and PET-Power joined forces in Greece.
Dichem was established in Athens in 1977. At present, the company’s main activity is the sale of raw materials, packaging materials (pumps, triggers, foamers) and additives to industries manufacturing cosmetics, pharmaceutical, household, and food & industrial products. Our company represents in Greece and in Cyprus some of the largest chemical industries, having high-qualified personnel of 40 employees and supplying from its warehouse more than 3000 different articles.
Our facilities represent 1000 m² of offices and 5000 m² of warehouses, north of Athens. Tassos Avramiotis, who is Chemist-Sales Manager, is representing the packaging department. Along with Maria Lazaroglou, who is also involved in Sales & PR, PET Power shows a dynamic growth in customers’ preferences, due to its high quality and wide range of PET bottles & jars. In order to promote PET Power's items, our company decided to participate in SYSKEVASIA 2008 (March 14-18, EXPO ATHENS), in other words exhibition for packaging related to food, cosmetic and household products.
Axeva Petpower’s Hungarian distributor Axeva is a young, dynamic packaging consultant company founded in 2005 by owners Natalia Wappel and Attila Agg. Axeva’s mission is to introduce and establish quality packaging in Hungary, to be a partner in planning and developing innovative products.
PET-Power is showing great assistance in this mission: with a vast range of standard products & short leadtime Pet-Power is able to supply flexibly quality packaging in the field of premium food and OTC pharma where a huge and dynamic growth is anticipated.
Hungary is a special country with lots of talented young enterprises and Axeva sees a challenge to work both with small companies and multinationals, may the product be honey, spices or vitamins.
In the beginning of the cooperation with PET-Power Axeva would not have tought that the most successful packaging would be the big volume PET widemouth jars, which were chosen by partner companies because of the unique shapes and excellent sealing properties. A close cooperation with cap producers completes with PET-Power’s squeezer range helped to break the monotony of Hungarian honey packaging.
Axeva is the first company in Hungary to be able to supply OTC producers various pilljars with high competitive conditions.
Axeva’s future plans are to be present on the market of natural and bio products, and of course: to dress up on day the famous Hungarian paprika into a beautiful new packaging.
PET & Pharma, the perfect combination Already 16 years ago PET-Power in the Netherlands launched its first ranges of PET packaging specifically for pharmaceutical use. It concerned an amber bottle with a 28 mm neck finish in two well-known shapes being the Veral and Syrup. In this specific industry where the risk of breaking glass is so crucial, PET packaging forms the ideal alternative when produced under the correct circumstances.
The pharmaceutical market continuously seeks product improvements and increases its quality levels all the time. Packaging producers need to be one step ahead, need to innovate themselves. PET-Power has been one of the few, if not the only one, who has successfully done so. The company already opened their first class 100.000 Clean-room in 1998 to set the high-quality pharmaceutical packaging standard. Within 5 years the next step was taken and again it meant a firm step forward. A complete new Clean-room was built, two times as big, but more importantly ten times as clean!! With 10 production lines in a 24/7 controlled ISO CLASS 7 (former FDA 10.000) condition the new standard was set and put into operation in 2004. But PET-Power has not been resting since, as within the production lines the improvements have continued. Today all products are in-line leak tested and fully vision-inspected.
As products move into cleanrooms of our clients, they can be especially packed in triple sealed brickpacks of 40 x 60 cm. PET-Power will raise the standard once again in 2006 with the implementation of 2 new state-of-the-art vision inspection systems, which are further improvements on the road to ‘zero-defect‘ delivery to the customers. Spanish dealer - REPLI In Spain, PET-Power is represented by the company Repli SL, an important wholesaler located close to Barcelona. With a history as a supplier to the chemical- and pharma industry, the cosmetics & food industry has now become a growing market for them as well. Repli sells packaging ranging from 10 ml up to 1000 L from their new 6000 m2 warehouse.
Celebrating in a unique way Being the leading manufacturer of high-end PET packaging for the niche market PET Power celebrated last spring their 10 year anniversary in a unique way. The management considered this anniversary especially a compliment to the whole crew who build the company to what it is today. Therefore a visit to the manufacturer of PET Power’s 44 installed Stretch Blow Moulding Machines AOKI was thought to be the ideal way to celebrate this memorable milestone and a unique way to do something back to the whole team. Dressed in special designed fleece-jackets and matching caps a group of 70 employees (= 70% of the whole crew) set way for Tokyo. A busy programme followed which included sightseeing in Nagano and Tokyo and a visit to the Aoki factory. Topped with a huge dinnerparty with the staff-personal of Aoki the trip has become a great memory which will not be forgotten by any of the participants. |
