Sealing the packaging is of considerable significance. It has to look good, while still being functional. And safe! PET Power has been working with suppliers of lids for years and has gained considerable experience. We have our own specialists in-house. For this reason, the company is more than qualified to provide advice to customers.
Standard or made-to-measure
PET Power has available a large range of standard lids, directly available from stock. But PET Power is also able to make use of suppliers to provide a specific solution, often several. The customer is then able to make choices that assist the thinking process. As PET Power buys in in bulk, the conditions of supply are attractive. Delivery takes place in previously coordinated quantities. And correctly timed. In this way, the customer has all the components needed in-house in good time for a smoothly functioning filling process.
Attractive shapes
Tastes vary. For this reason, lid manufacturers have developed a huge range. They can be plastic, aluminium, metal, wood or wood‑look. There are extremely low or, on the other hand, raised types that completely change the look of a jar or bottle. Printing, labels and logos in relief are all available. One customer prefers a glossy variant, another a matt variant. Some lids are shaped in such a way that a bottle can be placed in the normal position or on its head. Others accentuate the flowing lines of the packaging and the end product. Packaging your brand means that PET Power listens carefully to the wishes of the customer and translates this information into an appropriate form.
Closing & sealing
Attractiveness is one thing. But a lid also has to be functional. Sometimes closing is all that is required, and for this a there is a broad choice of screw-tops. However, a lid is also the means to demonstrate the integrity of the packaging. A seal like this is called Tamper Evident. The consumer then knows for sure that no one has done anything to it beforehand. Once again, there are many options that can be considered. Is the requirement that only a label is broken on opening? Or also foil over the opening? It can be even more convincing: on opening, the consumer sees a rim or ring being broken. In sum, there are endless types of sealing. There is also the question of the extent to which contact with the contents is allowed, in particular in packaging foodstuffs.
Dosage
Then there are pumps, sprays and atomisers. Here functionality raises other questions. For example, what is the desired dosage per application? This determines the length and thickness of the relevant tube in the jar or bottle and also the width of the opening and possibly of the chamber in the lid.
Innovation
There are various kinds of innovative lids. Currently there is even the option of keeping two components separate in the bottle and the lid and mixing them only when the bottle is first opened. Ideal with powders for drinks.
Contact
Good advice can be expensive, but certainly not always. PET Power assists in taking decisions and is in a good position to indicate what is possible and what not. Ultimately the end-consumer, PET Power’s customer and thus PET Power itself have a shared interest: that the packaging works well and is attractive. In the configurator (under ‘product configurator' on the website) you can access a range of suggestions in several formats and shapes. Please note that this is a limited selection taken from many options. If you have any questions or requests, please contact us by means of the sample form. |
